The Planning Commission has launched separate studies of 12 different areas of Hamilton County, officials said.
Karen Hundt said work is progressing on the initial area of study - Area 12. It is at the southeast corner of the county and includes the city of Collegedale.
She said the recently completed Collegedale study will be implemented into the plan.
Public meetings will be held in conjunction with each of the studies, and there will be citizen committees to give input.
The next study will be Area 2 and involve much of the city's Districts 8 and 9.
Another upcoming study will focus on Hixson.
