Rezoning For RV Park At Lakesite Deferred Again

  • Monday, January 8, 2018

Rezoning for an RV park at Lakesite has been deferred again by the Planning Commission over the issue of the developer holding a public meeting.

Darrel Jones said, due to the holidays, he was not able to meet with neighbors about the project at 9546 Hixson Pike.

He said three neighbors are opposed, but none of them appeared at the meeting on Monday afternoon at the County Courthouse.

Mr. Jones said he owns some 100 acres on the lake with the property including a marina, 15 rental cabins and apartments. He plans to build three more docks.

He said the new RV section "will bring a lot of people to the waterfront."

Mr. Jones said under the lease from TVA the property cannot be used for residential, but for commercial recreation.

The final decision will be by the Lakesite Commission.
