Brooksher, John A. (Decatur)

John A. Brooksher, 70, a resident of Decatur, Tennessee, passed away on Friday morning, September 22, 2017.

He was born on Feb. 6, 1947, in Galveston, Tx., to the late Von Brooksher and Mildred Ruth Harris. John was a 1965 graduate of Marion High School in Marion, In. After high school, he went on to faithfully serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. For 38 years, John worked as a tool cutter grinder at the Dana Corporation.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 25 years, Paula Weaver Brooksher; step-son, Patrick (Holly) Ireland, of Salem, VA; granddaughter, Katie Ireland; sister, Alicia (Jerry) Kraynick, of Oakmont, PA; brother, Larry Brooksher, of Logansport, IN; as well as his precious cats, Buster, Emma, Sophie, and Patches.

Per John’s request there will be no public service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the humane society of one’s choice.
