Hill, William Lindsey "Bill" (Spring City)

William Lindsey "Bill" Hill passed away on September 21, 2017, at Standifer Hospice Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee after fighting cancer since 1968.

Bill was born March 25, 1930 in an area called Seven Springs in Rhea County, Tn., now covered by Watts Bar Lake. He graduated from Spring City High School in 1948, served honorably in the United States Navy for six years, and worked with Adams Concrete Company as a supervisor, in Maryland, North Carolina, and Florida.

His parents were the late Reverend William Abel (Doc) Hill and late Jenny Lenora Jackson Hill.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Cordia Hill, Spring City, brother, Joe W. Hill of Georgia; sisters, Mildred H. Garrison of South Carolina, Alene Scruggs of Kentucky, and Nancy Hll of Georgia, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, his brothers, C.W. Hill and C.D. Hill, and sisters, Ruth H. Smith, preceded him in death.

Companion Funeral Home, Cleveland, will handle his remains with no service at this time.
