Marcella Grady
Marcella Marie Klein Grady, 93, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at a Chattanooga hospital.
She was born Sept. 19, 1924, to Luella and Frank Klein in Howard, SD. Marcella graduated from St. Agatha High School and attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, IA until 1944 when she contracted polio. While in college she did volunteer work for service men during the war. She married Leo Grady in 1946 and had two sons, Doug and David. She worked with her husband in the photograph and drug sundries business in Howard, SD before moving to Cleveland in 1981. She was an avid bridge player who was ever grateful to family and friends for help. Marcella was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband of 54 years, Leo Grady.
She is survived by her two sons, Doug Grady (Sandra) of Cleveland and David Grady of Georgetown; grandchildren, Douglas James Grady and Devin Nicole Grady; great-grandchildren, Isabella Grady and Jonathon James Grady; and cousins, Janet Klein, Marilyn Klein, and Marion Doss.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan presiding.
Her family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m., prior to the service at the church. A burial will take place in Howard, SD.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the St. Therese Building Fund, 900 Clingan Ridge Drive NW, Cleveland, Tn. 37311.
