William Jamaal Harris
Police have charged William Jamaal Harris with firing multiple shots at a group of people sitting in front of a house on Fagan Street in an incident on July 5.
Harris, 33, of 1126 E. 33rd St., has now been taken into custody on six counts of aggravated assault and two of vandalism.
Police said children ages eight and 11 were among those in the group.
A woman at the scene said she heard Harris say, "This is my revenge." She looked up and saw Harris shooting out of a car in the direction of the house.
Witnesses said Harris was attempting to shoot Robert Blocker, who was in a relationship with the former girlfriend of Harris.
A woman said she started pushing her grandchildren and children into the house and down in the yard to try to keep them from being hit by bullets.
She was able to make a positive ID of Harris.
Police found 12 .40 caliber shell casings and 17 .9 mm shell casing across the street from the residence.
There were four holes in the front siding of the house and one hole in the side of the house. There was a hole in an above ground pool with water leaking from it, and two holes in the front window facing Fagan Street. Police found five projectiles, including one that was in the pool.
A green Monte Carlo belonging to Terrance Brooks was hit several times.
Police said Harris is a validated Bounty Hunter Blood gang member.
