Area youth golfers are set to compete in the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship Regional Qualifier on Sunday. They will compete for an opportunity to compete at Augusta National
The top eight golfers, four male and four female, from Sunday’s competition at The Honors Course advance to National Finals at the site of the Masters Tournament on Sunday, April 1.
Conducted in partnership between the Masters Tournament, the PGA of America and the USGA, the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship is a free, nationwide youth golf development program open to boys and girls, ages 7-15, in four age categories.
One of 10 regional competitions across the United States will take place at The Honors Course on Sunday morning. The top male and female finishers across the four age divisions – 80 finalists in total – will participate in the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship National Finals.
Drive, Chip and Putt Championship local qualifying occurred in May, June, and July, at more than 260 sites throughout the United States. The top three scorers per venue, in each of four age categories in separate boys and girls divisions, advanced to 53 subregional qualifiers in July and August. Two juniors in each age and gender division moved on to the regional qualifiers.
