The Chattanooga Lookouts were defeated by the Mississippi Braves by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday night. For Chattanooga, it was their first loss to the M-Braves this season after sweeping the six game road series in Mississippi(June 28-July 3) and winning the first game of the home series on Monday night. Atlanta Braves #5 overall prospect,Mike Soraka (11-8, 2.92), brought his A game to the mound, as he kept the Lookouts off balance for the majority of the night.
In 6.0 innings pitched, Soroka scattered six hits, allowed two runs, both of which were earned, issued one walk, and struck out four in route to his eleventh win of the season.
The M-Braves got off to a fast start, as they scored two runs in the top of the first inning. Dylan Moore scored the game's first run when he crossed the plate on an Alex Jackson groundout. Mississippi's second run of the inning cam courtesy of a line drive RBI single from Travis Demeritte, which allowed Austin Riley to score from third base.
The Lookouts scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning when Levi Michael grounded into a double play, allowing T.J. White to score from third. The Lookouts tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the third inning on a solo home run by Edgar Corcino, his fourth of the season.
The M-Braves retook the lead in the top of the fifth inning via a solo homer from Tyler Neslony, making the score 3-2. Mississippi extended their lead 5-2 in the top of the sixth inning.
The M-Braves added another insurance run in the top of the seventh inning after Alex Jackson singled on a line drive to left field, plating Riley from second base.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Chattanooga scored two runs, making the score 6-4. Nick Gordon produced the Lookouts first run of the inning when he drew a bases loaded walk, which allowed Levi Michael to score. The Lookouts scored their second run of the inning after Corcino grounded into a double play, scoring Brian Navarreto from third base.
Chattanooga earned another run in the bottom of the eighth inning when White hammered his 13th homer of the season, a deep drive well over the center field wall to make the score 6-5.
In the end, the Lookouts rally fell just a bit short, as they suffered just their seventeenth loss of the second half.

Chattanooga and Mississippi will meet at AT&T Field for game three of the series on Wednesday night at 7:15 p.m.
RHP, D.J. Baxendale (0-0, 1.17) will get the start for the Lookouts. His counterpart will be Mississippi southpaw,Tyler Pike (0-7, 4.13).
