McCoy, Donna Muriel

Donna Muriel McCoy, Fort Oglethorpe, passed away on her 97th birthday, Aug. 18, 2017.  Donna was born to parents, James and Mary Ramsey in Atlanta.  She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga, North Georgia area and was of the Baptist faith.  She enjoyed golfing at the Battlefield Golf and Country Club as well as going on golf trips with friends.  Muriel also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.   She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years John “Sam” McCoy. 

She is survived by daughters, Donna (Jerry) Harper, Rossville, Kym (Glen) Sharrock, Chickamauga, and Sammie (Don) Welch, Hixson; grandchildren, Kelley (Stan) Hillis, Greg (Heather) Linderman, Togi Linderman, Josh (Andrea) Sharrock, and Jake (Lauren) Sharrock; great-grandchildren, Allie and Abbie Hillis, Andi Curtis, Noah Linderman, Harper Sims, and Gavin Sharrock. 

Funeral services will be noon Tuesday, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joe Brown officiating.  Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
