William McFarland
William Edward McFarland, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away on August 20, 2017.
He was born in Monteagle, Tn., on Jan. 25, 1929, to Harvey Edward and Adalene (Gregory) McFarland. Bill was a retired first aid officer for US Pipe & Foundry and was a security officer at Cigna. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma Elsea McFarland; sister Mary H. Castleberry, and stepson, Tommy Long.
Survivors include special friend and caregiver, Katherine Snyder, along with Marilyn Combs; daughters, Carol (Danny) Dennis and Martha Brock, and Sandy (James) Downer; special niece, Brenda (Mitch) Wooten; grandchildren, Billy (Laura) Combs, David (Stacie) Combs, Tony (Karen) Combs, Becca Brock, Penny (Brian) Unmisig, Natalie (Andrew) Downer, and several loving great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 22, from 5-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 1-2 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Odell Broadway officiating.
Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
