Donald Ray "Donnie" Cate, 57, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, August 17, at the family residence.

Donnie was the son of the late Beatrice Redd Cate and Ralph Cate. His brother, Charles Cate also preceded him in death. Donnie worked construction most of his life and he loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing. Donnie was a Christian.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Melissa Blackburn Cate of Cleveland, his daughter, Brittany Danelle Cate also of Cleveland, his sisters, Betty Jo Bowman and Mary Anderson and her husband David, his brothers, Bill Cate and his wife Joyce, Carl Cate and his wife Reba, Ronnie Cate and his wife Cora, Wayne Cate and his wife Kathy and Jerry Cate and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Sunday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m. from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Ronnie Eugene Cate officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
