Steven Lamar Holmes
Steven Lamar Holmes, age 21, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday afternoon, August 7, 2017, with his, fiancée, Amber Brewer and friends and co-workers, Justin Hendrix and Jennifer Valdez, in Bridport, Vermont from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Steven was born Jan. 26, 1996 in Dalton. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lamar Holmes. He was a 2014 high school graduate of Mt. Creek Academy and was employed by Dreamland Amusements. Steven was a very outgoing, loving and caring person. He was always willing to help a friend and loved his children and family dearly.
He is survived by his mother, Melissa and Kris Parton of Dalton; grandmother, Shelia Holmes of Chatsworth; children, David James Stanley, Kayden Williams and Sky Kriner all of Dalton; uncle and aunt, Eric and Amy Holmes of Chatsworth; brothers, Austin Nichols, Blake Parton; sisters and brother-in-law, Ashley and Kristian Kriner, Kayla Canessa all of Dalton; great-grandparents, Charles Holmes, Wylene and Gary Crowe all of Dalton; niece, Madison Holmes; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Service to celebrate the life of Steven Lamar Holmes will be held Sunday, Aug. 13, at 3 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Phillip Burns officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Aubrey Stanley, Tran Van Meter, Skylar Humor, Justin Saylors, Vee Sturgill, Alex Moore and Raheme Adams serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6-9 p.m. Saturday and after 12 p.m. Sunday until the service hour. The family request in honor of Steven everyone please dress casual.
