For Some 169 Teens, 2017’s Summer Of Fun Means Helping Chattanooga

  • Wednesday, July 5, 2017

World Changers and P2 Missions are initiatives of LifeWay Christian Resources (Southern Baptist Convention), and are bringing a group of 169 junior high, high school, and college students to Chattanooga from across America on July 8-July 15, 2017

During the week, the students will be working on a variety of assignments that range from painting a house, putting on siding, distributing community gardens, distributing food to the homeless, constructing wheelchair ramps, and various other projects to serve Chattanooga.

"The students and adults who participate in World Changers and P2 Missions have a desire to serve and grow in their ability to meet the needs of communities.  World Changers and P2 Missions participants learn what serving others really means throughout the week. Working in this city is a way to demonstrate that teens can get out of their comfort zone, work hard, and help others," officials said.

Students traveling with their churches and youth groups pay on average $340 for check in as well as all their travel to take part in this week where they work on a variety of projects throughout communities in Chattanooga.

This week, students will be working with a variety of churches throughout Chattanooga and staying at Brainerd Baptist Church.

This summer, more than 10,000 student and adult volunteers are registered to participate in over 70 World Changers and P2 Missions projects across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Sponsored by LifeWay Christian Resources in Nashville, Tennessee, World Changers and P2 Missions is serving not only this week in Chattanooga but also in more than 50 cities in the US and Puerto Rico.
