Smith, Louis Gregory "Greg"

Co-Owner And President Of Vector Printing

  • Wednesday, July 26, 2017
Louis Gregory "Greg" Smith left this life on July 22, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carolyn and Frank Smith; his son, George Smith; and his brother, Parker Smith.  He is survived by his daughter, Katie (Jordan) King, granddaughter, Lola King, brother, Chuck (Tammy) Smith, sister, Cyd (Neal) Davis, and nieces and nephews, Charlie, Parker, Natalie, and Laura Smith.  He had two great loves and was beloved by a host of interesting and wonderful friends.

Greg started working at Lake Winnie when he was nine years old. He was a graduate of the McCallie School ('73) and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. A lifelong entrepreneur, he ran several local businesses, including the Swim Center.  He was the co-owner and president of Vector Printing, which he started with his business partner and friend, Mike Schultz.

Greg leaves behind a legacy of hard work, humble leadership, and many happy times.  He loved to travel, cooked the best slab of ribs in the Southeast, and was a born salesman.  He made a mean hot sauce, played golf almost every Sunday, and never shied away from a good debate.

The family will receive visitors at a celebration of life at Christy's Sports Bar on Brainerd Road on Saturday, July 29 from 1-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts to CADAS.

Arrangements are by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave.
