Dierks, Gerald "Gerry"

Gerald "Gerry" Dierks went to be with his savior and friend on July 24, 2017.

Gerry was born January 23, 1936 in Bryan, Ohio.

Gerry served in the U.S. Army from 1958 – 1960. He was an active member of Grace Pointe Assembly of God Church. His passion to help others led him to The Transformation Project, an alternative sentencing program for alcohol and drug offenders. He served faithfully for 10 years, recently on the board of directors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and LaVerne Dierks, a daughter, Mona Rae, and grandson, Trent.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Louise (Snyder), sons Jason, Rick, and Keith (Carrie); granddaughter, Trisha; grandsons, Abram and Lucas; and great-grandchildren, Andrew and Hailey.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 27, from 4-6 p.m. at Grace Pointe Assembly of God Church . The funeral service will follow at the Church at 7 p.m. with Pastor Terry Evans officiating. Interment will be held at the National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice and the Transformation Project are appreciated.
