Lucille Pauline Postell Parris
Lucille Pauline Postell Parris, 86, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at her residence.
She had lived in Cleveland most of her life and was a member of Victory Street Church of God. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Harold Lee Cawood; parents, Henry Atkins and Dora Keller Kell; children, Lorine Postell and Dennis Postell; son-in-law, John Huggins; and brothers, Alvin O’Neal, Ed Postell, and Louis Postell.
She is survived by 11 children, Cecil Dockery (Melanie) of Cleveland, Sybil Perry of Dalton, GA, James Dockery, William Dockery (Carol), Donald Parris, Steve Parris (Diane) all of Calhoun, GA, Marvin Parris (Amariah) of Benton, TN, David Parris, Bobby Parris, Joyce Parris Nixon (Kert), and Jo Huggins all of Cleveland; 25 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one brother, Estes Postell (Flora) of Kennesaw, GA; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Bowman officiating. Interment will follow at Hays Shed Cemetery with Scotty Wilcox, Sean Campbell, William Dockery, Jr., Jason Blevins, Anthony DeVries, and Kert Nixon serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony with bagpipes will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, at the funeral home.
