Jim Ray Stanton, age 71, of Soddy Daisy, and formerly of Dalton, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Stanton; parents, Ray and Edith Stanton; and brother, Curtis Stanton.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Deborah Stanton of Cohutta; two grandchildren, Christopher and wife Heather and Tyler Stanton; two great-grandchildren, William and Reese Stanton.
At Mr. Stanton’s request, there will no memorial service. The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Saturday, July 22, from 1-3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia.
