Brindle action solo at Crossville
For the next two weeks Fort Payne Motor Speedway is slated to host some of the best dirt racers in the country as a Summertime Explosion is set for the next eight days from this Saturday night.
The United Crate Racing Alliance kicks off July 22 with Round #8 of the 2017 championship season.
A unique opportunity has risen for one racer Saturday; Chip Brindle of Dalton/Chatsworth is going for three in a row, after his recent winning sweep of UCRA’s “FireCracker Nationals” in Tennessee two weeks ago. The Hill Motorsports # 17 "Beyea Custom Headers, Advance Tufting, FK Rod Ends, Garrison Automotive, BDR Loopers & Clips, Brindle Bros Auto Parts" 604 GM Performance Team 17 Extreme racer has set his name aside two others fellow competitors who’ve collected back to back wins with the alliance since its conception in 2015. Anthony White of Clinton, Tn. recently did a “two-fer” back earlier this summer winning in Tazewell and Maryville, while Rusty Ballenger won his two en route to his $5,000 championship back in 2016 in middle Tennessee. Ballenger has just taken over the top position in UCRA points from early season dominator Jason Manley of Loudon, Tn., who is now 12 points behind.
UCRA officials are expected to announce additional tour dates for Fall in the coming days to the 2017 schedule. Competitors of the UCRA battle for nearly $10,000 in posted prize money at each event and are vying for more than $16,000 in total posted prize money and accolades of the 2017 Championship Season.
Week two of the Summertime Explosion wraps up with the 10th annual "FireCracker 50" for Super Late Models Saturday, July 29, paying $3,000 to-WIN.
