Catoosa County Baptist Association To Hold Back To School Fair Aug. 5

The Catoosa County Baptist Association invites the community to attend its annual Back To School Fair on Saturday Aug. 5 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. 

The purpose of the event is to provide school supplies and medical exams for families who need them. Also, there will be free food, haircuts, games, inflatables, and swimming. 

The Association is located at Camp Scott Patterson on 72 Old Mill Lane in Ringgold, Ga.

Gresham To Speak At Lee’s Summer Commencement

Dr. Loren Gresham will address Lee University students at the summer commencement ceremony on Saturday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m. in the Conn Center.  Dr. Gresham is the president of Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. County School Board Members, Rep. Favors Rap State Take-Over Plans For Low Performing Schools; New Superintendent To Come Up With Community Plan

County School Board members at a Thursday work session took turns rapping a state take-over plan for low performing schools. New Supt. Bryan Johnson said he will work over the next 30-45 days to come up with a community proposal for strengthening the iZone schools. Couple Arrested After 3-Year-Old Boy Brought To Hospital With Serious Injuries

A woman and her boyfriend have been arrested after her three-year-old son was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police said the child had a broken left arm, fractured ribs, a lacerated kidney and a skull fracture with bleeding on the brain.
