Lookout Pitchers Have Kept Blue Wahoos From Scoring In 14 Straight Innings

Game One Sunday

Andy Wilkins had three hits and two RBI, and Dereck Rodriguez allowed just two hits over six innings as the Chattanooga Lookouts beat the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 6-0 in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday.

Rodriguez (1-0) struck out six and walked two to pick up the win.

Up 1-0 in the fourth, Chattanooga added to its lead when LaMonte Wade hit a two-run single.

The Lookouts later added a run in the fifth and two in the sixth.

In the fifth, Brian Navarreto hit an RBI single, while Wilkins hit a two-run single in the sixth.

Jose Lopez (2-1) went five innings, allowing four runs and nine hits in the Southern League game. He also struck out four and walked four.

The Blue Wahoos were blanked for the eighth time this season, while the Lookouts' staff recorded their eighth shutout of the year.

Game Two Sunday

Fernando Romero tossed a three-hit shutout and Travis Harrison had two hits and scored two runs, as the Chattanooga Lookouts topped the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 6-0 in the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday.

Romero (7-5) struck out six and walked three to pick up the win.

After picking up 12 hits in the first game, the Lookouts collected 11 more hits in Sunday's second game.

Up 2-0 in the third, Chattanooga extended its lead when Levi Michael hit a two-run double.

The Lookouts later tacked on a run in both the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth, LaMonte Wade hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Alex Perez, while Harrison hit an RBI single in the fifth.

Domingo Tapia (2-3) went three innings, allowing four runs and six hits in the Southern League game. He also struck out three and walked two.

The Blue Wahoos were held off the scoreboard for the ninth time this season, while the Lookouts' staff recorded their ninth shutout of the year.

The Lookouts have now won seven consecutive games.

With the win, Chattanooga remains undefeated (9-0) against Pensacola this season.

Chattanooga goes for the series sweep Monday night at AT&T Field. Randy LaBlanc will be the Lookouts' starting pitcher. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
