Ilena Whaley Davis, 93, of Cohutta, passed away from this life, into eternal life, on June 21, 2017.
She was a member of South Riverside Missionary Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla.
She was the daughter of the late J.J. and Minnie Whaley, and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Davis; sons, Jerry Davis and Roger Davis; great-granddaughter, Cassie Lewis; brother, Loy Whaley; sisters, Mazie Woody, Ruth Foster, Edna Dixon, Margie Parris, Agnes Wampler, and Emma Blanchard; extended family, Cecil Davis, Frances Ott and Mary Lou MacLelland, each of whom she loved dearly.
Over her lifetime she selflessly gave of her love, time and devotion to her family, friends and even strangers, and was loved by all who knew her.
Ilena is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Rudy Miller of Cohutta; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Michelle Davis of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, James Whaley and Leo Whaley (Peggy) of Cohutta; sisters, Mildred Fauscette and Wanda Tibbs of Cohutta; grandchildren, Donnie Davis, Norman Lewis, Bryan Davis, Mark Miller, Avie Saunders, Jessica Davis and Matthew Davis; nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; extended family, including Lorraine and Polo Villareal of Cleveland, Tenn., and Irene Cavitt of Cleveland.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Quinton Memorial Health and Rehab for their love, compassion and care, and to her many friends for their love.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
