Former Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Detective In Signal Mountain Murder Case

Roy Curtis Parham, 87, of East Ridge, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. 

He was born in Blowing Springs, Ga., to the late Arthur C. and Blanche Hales Parham. 

Roy was a Seabee, serving with the U.S. Navy and member of the East Ridge Church of Christ.  He was the former East Ridge Chief of Police and a Major Crimes Detective for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department. Roy loved the Lord, his family, traveling, woodworking and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the East Ridge Masonic Lodge #755, F&AM.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Parham.

Survivors include his sons, Nick (Cristy) Adams, Doug Parham, Rod (Sharon) Parham and Chuck Patty; daughters, Kathy (Butch) Hannah and Teresa (Joey) Horton; seven grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, S.G. (Edna) Parham; sisters, Imogene Collins and Diane (Charles) Elliott; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, at the East Ridge Church of Christ, with Minister Joseph Horton officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ghana West Africa Mission, in care of the Red Bank Church of Christ or to the East Ridge Church of Christ.
