Arthur Lafayette “Shug” Hart, 76, of Hixson, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

Shug worked as a commercial fisherman and was the owner/operator of Hart’s Construction.

Shug was preceded in death by his parents, Roy A. Hart and Nancy Hart Newman; brother, LeRoy Hart; sister, Lou Clayton; sons, Douglas Hart and Troy Hart.

Survivors are his children, Tom “Dale” Hart, Tammy Lewis, Glenda Lewis (Allen) and Kathryn Gillis (Bryan); step-son, Barney Hodge and his mother, Naomi Hart; grandchildren, Courtney Johnson, Angelica Hart, Hannah Hart, Tiffany Gravett, Vincent Dunn, James H. West, Eric West, Timothy West, Payton Gillis, Richard Gillis, Debbie Martin, Nadine Johnson-Miller, 17 great-grandchildren; special friend, Sandy Lewis.

Services will be held on Monday, June 26, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is on Sunday, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
