Unum To Host Chattanooga Police Department Neighborhood Lineup

  • Tuesday, June 20, 2017

Unum is hosting a neighborhood lineup for Chattanooga Police Department officers on Wednesday at its downtown campus.

"Neighborhood lineups encourage engagement with local officers and community members, an effort to reduce barriers between the police and the communities they serve," officials said.

Lineups are briefing conversations, occurring at shift change, with shift supervisors and the officers on duty. Officers exchange information and updates about areas of focus for the day. An estimated 20 police officers will be present the event from 3-4 p.m.

Children from the YMCA’s YCAP program will be present to shoot hoops with police officers after the lineup in Unum’s Atrium. Unum is donating several hundred basketballs to the CPD for officers to engage with local youth in the neighborhoods they serve, and the basketball goals will be donated to YCAP gyms following the event.
