Lillie Mae Wheeler, 88, of Chattanooga, died on Monday, June 19, 2017.

She was born on Aug. 24, 1928, in Seco, Ky. to the late Burl Patrick and Emma Mae Sanders. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin B. Wheeler, Sr.; siblings, Ora Irene Layne, Albert Sanders, Maryetta L Bryant, Burl Sanders, Virginia Sanders, Beatrice Fairbanks, and Patricia Hobbs.

Mrs. Wheeler was a  50-year member of White Oak Baptist Church. She was employed at Brock Candy Company from 1944 until her retirement in 1994.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail (John) Chuy; son, Edwin B. Wheeler, Jr.; step daughter, Lois Anne Alverson; sister, Mildred Bradley; brothers, Lloyd (Nell) Sanders, and Harold (Joyce) Sanders; grandchildren Carri Radford, Jamie Chuy, Bo Wheeler, Joe Wheeler, Angie Cathy, Amy Faulkner, and Mandy McKnight; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 23, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 22.
