As our church, Warren Chapel AME Church paid honors to the veterans and my viewing of the PBS feature,
Sunday, evening, I began to feel and think differently than before. Each year to sort of "go all out" celebrating Veteran's Day. WE provide flags, certificates, notes of appreciation and acknowledgements. My brother, father and grandfather were all veterans, too.
Although they did not speak much about their, experiences, I concluded since they did not "die" in the wars, it was just "another job."
This year, considering more about the previous wars and those who were injured and died to save America, we surely owe them. Not only should we provide them assistance in providing housing, employment, shelter, nutrition, health care, we can continue to strive save all of America. To join the organizations geared toward improving communities needs, such as in housing, education for all youth, diversity and inclusion opportunities, and health care are parts from which we can choose.
From the career of an educator, I was usually forced to be more creative in my approaches to improve my students in the area of motivation. One activity I asked them to write and submit, "What would the world miss without me?" This a question that comes to mind and I will pass it on to you.
