Marie Matthews, 82, of Scottsboro, Alabama, died on Wednesday, May 24.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Sue Starkey; Son, Billy Clyde (Donna) Matthews; grandchildren, Amber Reeves, Tabitha Veal, Heather Hutcheson, John Wesley Davis, and Jeremy Yancey, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rader Mae Hallman and James Elmer Goforth; Sister, Gertrude “Trudy” Gossett; Brother, James William “Goatman” Goforth; Daughter, Deborah Carol Matthews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 26, from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, May 27, from 12-8 p.m. at the Valley Funeral Home in Scottsboro.
The funeral service will be Sunday, May 28, at 2 p.m.
