James "Tommy" Joyner
James W. “Tommy” Joyner, 87, of Hixson, passed away on May 24, 2017.
James was born in Ohio on Sept. 2, 1929. He graduated from South Pittsburg High School. He retired as a millwright at DuPont with 36 years of service.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond James Joyner and Lydia Shuberg Joyner, and his brother, David Raymond Joyner.
Survivors include his wife, Fannalee Joyner; son, James Joyner; daughter, Susan Jane George; son, Joseph Joyner; sister, Mary Jane Joyner; and six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
There will be a graveside funeral service on Saturday, May 27, at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, 5351 Highway 153, Hixson. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
