Vision Hospitality Group Celebrates 20th Anniversary With Inaugural "True Blue" Week

  • Tuesday, May 23, 2017

Vision Hospitality Group, Inc. announced the successful conclusion of the company’s inaugural “True Blue Week,” a week dedicated to community service and volunteering. The Chattanooga-based, award-winning hospitality company designated the event as part of a year-long celebration of the company’s 20th anniversary, as a way to thank the communities and people that have supported the company’s growth and success over the past two decades.

Fittingly named after the company’s True Blue culture program, Vision dedicated 2,000 company-wide hours to True Blue Week, enabling all members of the team to participate in activities of volunteering, mentoring and giving back to the communities that have welcomed Vision across the country.  During the week, the Vision team successfully partnered with over 30 non-profit organizations in five states.  Non-profit organizations included the Global Soap Project, the American Red Cross, Books for Africa, Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation and the St. Jude’s Rock n’ Roll Marathon.   Vision kicked off the event with a hygiene kit build of 300 kits assembled by all hotel general managers and sales leaders using supplies purchased through the Global Soap Project.  All hygiene kits were then donated to a homeless shelter in Chattanooga.

“An important part of Vision’s success comes from the communities that have supported Vision over the years,” said Vision President and CEO Mitch Patel. “We knew an important part of this celebration was to give back to the communities that we call home. I’m proud to be part of a family of passionate associates with a spirit of service, and I’m thrilled to hear about the difference the Vision team has made in each community throughout our growing portfolio. Amazing things can be accomplished when we work together and stay true to our values, and I am excited to continue to celebrate Vision’s 20 years of community, family, and service throughout 2017.”

Vision’s growing portfolio and entrance to new markets has enabled the company to further its goal of making a difference and participating in community service efforts throughout America. Vision, which has an extensive training and culture program, is fully committed to their seven core values, including the value of Community. Vision has also been a standing partner with ECPAT, End Child Prostitution and Trafficking, which follows Vision’s ongoing initiative to end human trafficking in the hospitality industry.  Recognizing that it takes the support of each hotel in the community to end this crime, Vision developed a training program to create awareness and stop human trafficking.  Every associate in the Vision portfolio completes this training course during the Onboarding program.

Vision currently has 32 hotels open and has an additional 16 properties under construction or in development. Vision recently entered the Wilmington, North Carolina market in mid-April with the opening of the Hampton Inn Wilmington Downtown, where the staff has been actively participating in multiple non-profit organizations, including the Wilmington Food Bank.
