Dan “Curley” Marcus Morse, Sr., 79, of Chickamauga, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 18, 2017.
He had been a resident of Chickamauga since 1971 and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Dan served his country in the U.S. Army and retired in 1999 from U.S. Pipe after 30 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who will be greatly missed.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Evers and Bertha Cribb Morse; son, Dan Marcus Morse, Jr.; sister, Emma Laseter; brothers, Allen Morse, J.T. Morse and William Morse; and great granddaughter, Karmyn Carrington.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 36 years, Judy Ann Batts Morse; children, Cathy McConathy, Lindsey Grace Miller, Donnie Sellers, Jr., Cindy Fletcher, Lindy (Steve) Graham all of Chickamauga and Benjamin Franklin Sellers of Zolofo Springs, FL; sisters, Ella May Morse, Edna Davis and Bessy Kersey; brother, David Lavon (Jean) Morse; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several niece and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 22, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. on Saturday, 5-9 p.m. on Sunday, and prior to the service on Monday.
