Sandra "Sandi" Renee Henley Sammons, 47, of Ooltewah, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, April 27, 2017, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Bristol, Va., she was a 1987 graduate of Virginia High School and also Bristol School of Cosmetology and attended Carson Newman College.

Sandi worked for 14 years as scheduling coordinator for Dean Sikes Ministry and The YOUMATTER CAMPAIGN where she was instrumental in saving over 60,000 students from suicide.

She was a member of Redemption To The Nations Church, Chattanooga.

She is survived by her husband, Keith Sammons; son, Parker Sammons, both of Ooltewah; parents, Ken and Pat Henley, Bristol, Va.; sister, Connie (Dean) Johnson, Piney Flats, Tn.; niece, Courtney Johnson, Tampa, Fl.; nephew, Jarrod Johnson, Piney Flats, Tn.; great-niece, Amyiah Bias, Tampa, Fl.; spiritual son, Michael (Brittany) Teets, Ooltewah; cousin, Mike Moore, Bristol, Va.; special friends, Kim and Rick Whittemore, Don and Tammy Kibble, James and Rhonda Dixson, and Kristen Overton.

A Celebration of Life Service for Sandi will be held on Friday, April 28, at 7 p.m. at Redemption To The Nations Church with Bishop Kevin Wallace, Dean Sikes, Matt Wade and Dr. Steve Ball officiating.  

Additional services will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, at Grace Point Church, Bristol, Tn. with Dean Sikes, Pastor Richard Baker and Pastor James Norris officiating.  

The family will receive friends at Grace Point Church from 4-6 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Sunday at 3 P.M. at the Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol, VA.

Special thanks to Dr. Kent Grotefendt, Dr. Gregory Sutton, Dr. Hisham Qutob, TN Oncology Group,  Sarah Cannon Cancer Center, and the MICU Unit at Memorial Hospital for all of their love and care given to Sandi during this time.
