Elizabeth Holloway
Elizabeth B. Holloway, 93, closed her eyes for the final time on Wednesday April 26, 2017, and opened them in the presence of her savior Jesus Christ. She stepped from her home here on Earth into her next one in glory quickly and painlessly, without worry or fear.
Elizabeth's ready laughter and gentle spirit made her beloved by all who met her. She loved to sing, quilt, and make the best chocolate cake in the world. She took care of two small children while her husband was in the Army in Europe during World War II, supported her children while they were on the mission field and in business, and was a pillar of her church for many decades.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years Haskel T. Holloway, her parents, Abijah and Eliza Hill, and several brothers and sisters.
She will be missed here by her children, Rev. Gerald L. Holloway (Sue), Judy A. Rives (Glenn, deceased), and Tommy L. Holloway (Glenda) and by her five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 28, from 6-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home – North Chapel.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 29, at The Ministry Center, 2929 Hamill Road, at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
