Gladys Lawrence
Gladys Alberta Lawrence was born on December 30, 1925, to George and Jimmie Butler, and passed away on April 20, 2017.
She loved to cook and take care of her family. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Avondale Baptist Church and retired from Standard Coosa Thatcher after 32 years of hard work.
She is survived by her children, Reva McCluskey, Quinn Lawrence, Greta Ray, Lisa Lawrence, Lolita Lawrence, and Mario Lawrence; sisters, Sadie and Hazel; brothers, Wallace and Harold; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 4, at 1 p.m. in the chapel.
The body will lie in state after noon on Wednesday, May 3, and family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m.
