Weir, Brodie Noel Jr. (Athens)

Brodie Noel Weir, Jr., 77, of Athens, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare of Cleveland. 

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County,   he was of the Baptist Faith and was retired Conductor with CSX Railroad after 28 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Brodie Noel Weir, Sr, and Lorraine Jones Daugherty; and one brother, Wayne Stephens.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Judith Dickson Weir; two children, Steven Weir (April Walden Weir) of Athens and Kristal Weir Pettis (Brian Pettis) of Sevierville; two grandchildren, Cody Weir of Murfreesboro and Chelsey Weir of Athens; siblings, Larry Weir, Dianna Williams, Don (Sandra) Stephens and Matthew (Benji) Stephens; one sister-in-law Betty Stephens; one brother-in-law James Dickson; and several nieces , nephews and other extended family members.

At the request of Mr. Weir, there will be no formal services held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation Center is in charge of the arrangements.
