Wesley George Alexander, 73, of Villanow, Georgia, passed away at his residence Sunday on March 26, 2017.

He was born in Rome, Ga., to the late Samuel Paul and Bernice Aline Perkins Alexander. He had resided in Marietta, Ga., from 1973 until 1996 when he moved back to his family farm in Villanow. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960 until 1966. He had worked for the City of Atlanta Fire Department, the Walker County Sheriff’s Department and was self-employed most of his working in construction. He was of the Baptist Faith, enjoyed trout fishing and farming.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years: Sherry Ann Fuss Alexander and a brother: Wayne Alexander.

He is survived by his sons: Charles Wesley (Dawn) Alexander of Ballground, GA, Steven Kent (Renee’) Alexander of Bowdon, GA, sisters: Brenda Wethington, Vicki Alexander both of Rocky Face, GA, brothers: Larry Alexander of Seale, AL, Kenneth Alexander, Danny Alexander both of Villanow, GA, grandchildren: Jeremy, Cody, Tori, Audrey, Kathryn and Hannah Alexander, great-granddaughter: Claire Alexander and a special friend: Maxine Foutz.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, in the chapel. Interment will follow at LaFayette Memory Gardens.
