UTC Golfers 13th At Henssler Women's Intercollegiate

The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team is in 13th-place after 36 holes of the Henssler Intercollegiate. The Mocs turned in rounds of 299 and 303 for a 602 total. That trails Eastern Michigan in 12th by five and is seven clear of Georgia Southern in 14th.
 
Cristina Perez is tied for 23rd at 4-over 148. She’s followed by Monica San Juan and Holly Morgan at 151 with Maddy McDanel’s 152 close behind. Maria Pineiro shot 157 to round out the starters. Megan Woods played as an individual scoring 75 in both rounds for a 150 total.

24 Purdue owns the lead at 575. Memphis is second with 578 ahead of No. 13 Kent State in third at 581. Pimnipa Panthong (Kent State) and Panitta Yusabai (Maryland) leads individual at 4 under.
 
The Mocs shot 299 in the opening 18. San Juan and McDanel had the low rounds of 2-over 74. Perez posted 75 with Morgan completing the team score with 76. Pineiro’s 79 was the drop tally.
 
San Juan began with bogeys on two of the first four holes and was 3 over at the turn. She played her final nine at 1 under. McDanel began with a birdie before three straight bogeys. Eight consecutive pars preceded her next birdie on the par 4 fifth. She played her final five holes at 1 over.
 
UTC was 11th, one behind Augusta and two ahead of Maryland.
 
UTC shot 303 in the afternoon led by Perez’s 73. Morgan added 75 with San Juan at 77. McDanel and Pineiro both had 78s.
 
Perez sandwiched a birdie-bogey-bogey-birdie-bogey run with 13 pars for the day. Morgan had a similar fate. She posted 10 straight pars before a five-hole stretch that lifted her score to 4 over. A birdie on eight, her 17th hole of the round, along with pars on seven and nine completed her 3-over 75.
