King, Donald "Don" (Cleveland)

Donald “Don” King, 70, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday March 23, 2017 at the family residence.

He was the son of the late Dayton and Edith King; and was also preceded in death by his in-laws; his grandparents; and several nieces and nephews.

Don was retired from CSX Railroad as a conductor. He also worked at Magic Chef and was a member of the local painters union. He was an avid Tennessee Vols fan, he loved NASCAR and basketball. He loved old westerns owning a large collection of Louie Lamour books but most of all he loved and adored his grandchildren. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years Sandra “Sandy” King; his son Chad King; his daughters Dannette Nix and her husband Tim and Lisa Brewer; his grandchildren Travis, Tanner, Nathan, Missy and Shelby; great-grandchildren Parker and Tucker; his brothers Dayton King Jr. and his wife Cheryl and Doug King and his wife Shelba; his sister Dianne Williams; his sisters-in-law Yvonne Cox, Jackie Castelow and her husband Ralph; and his brother-in-law Buddy Ownbey and his wife Jane.

A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Sunday, March 26 at 2 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Dayton King Jr. and Rev. Mike James officiating. The interment will follow with military honors at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
