A.L. Domineck
Rev. A. L. Domineck, 58, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 in a local hospital.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1958, in Chattanooga, to the late Arthur Domineck, Sr. and Delores Domineck. Lionel (as he was affectionately called by his family and friends), was a 1976 graduate of Chattanooga City High School. He also received his Christian Theology Diploma from International Seminary through the Chattanooga Baptist Bible College and Center. Lionel was the former spiritual advisor, member and choir director of the Chattanooga Mass Choir. He was also a former member of the Chattanooga City Wide Choir and Union Grove Baptist Church. His love for preaching and singing allowed him the opportunity to minister and sing for various churches and groups throughout the city.
Rev. Domineck was the former pastor of the Piney Woods Baptist Church, former assistant pastor of the Galilee Baptist Church, and the former interim pastor of New Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a member of the Olivet Baptist Church where he served on the ministerial staff. Rev. Domineck loved the Lord, his family, friends and God’s people.
Lionel was formerly employed by Erlanger Medical Center, Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home, Hamilton County Schools and Taylor Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Domineck, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Mattie and Baxter Brown; cousins, Timothy L. Benton and Gerald L. Benton Sr.
Lionel’s memory will be cherished by his daughters: Tanisha (Artie) Watson and Kason (Anthony) Castanera, all of Chattanooga, TN; stepsons, Jason and Johnathan Nicholson; love of his life, Diane Domineck; mother, Delores Domineck; grandmother; Pauline Long; four grandchildren, Willie J. Domineck, Kaleb and Kelis Castanera-Domineck and Jadaya Nicholson; brothers, Arthur (Karen) Domineck of Suisun, CA, Calvin (Faye) Maddox of Knoxville, TN, Eric (Darnelle) Domineck of Pikesville, MD, and Charles Maddox, Chattanooga; sisters, Rhonda Jones, Dot (Willie) Graves, Pat (Tim) White, and Frankie (Alex) Kendrick all of Chattanooga; aunts, Joyce Fears, and Elsie Mae Brown; god sisters, Sabrina (C. Alexander) Harris and Pat (Herbert) Gray and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation is on Friday, March 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 25, at noon at Olivet Baptist Church with Bishop Kevin L. Adams, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
