Richard “Rick” Daughtrey
Richard “Rick” Daughtrey, 70, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2017, surrounded by his family in Dothan, Alabama.
Before Rick retired, he was the owner of L&R cabinets for over 20 years, doing what he loved. His beautiful cabinet work can be seen all over the city of Chattanooga. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need of help. Throughout the years of his marriage, with his wife, they traveled all over the world, places ranging from Russia to Bahamas. His favorite type of traveling was through cruises. After their retirement, they decided to travel in their own country, as Camp Host in various state parts. He loved building campfires, while making sure he made all of his daily phone calls. Sometimes he was accused of having his phone glued to his ear.
Rick was preceded by his parents, James and Frances Daughtrey, sisters, Bonnie Moore and Sue Womack. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Daughtrey, and his three daughters, Janice (Stephen) Wilson, Pam (Keith) Evans, and Angel (David) Bennett. The light of his life was his four grandchildren, Kayla Wilson, Katie Wilson, Sterlling Tindell, and Trey Bennett. His sister, Sis Davis (Gene) and many nieces and nephews, loving friends, and his best friend, his dog Bo also survive him.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 4-8 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Randy Bell officiating. A committal service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
