Lucile Mae Malarcher, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at her home at Southern Heritage Assisted Living. 

She was born Dec. 29, 1923, in Convent, La., to the late James W. and Lilian Hart Malarcher. 

Lucile was a member of Ladies of Charity and was involved with Meals on Wheels. 

She was a 30-year member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and enjoyed playing Bridge with her OLPH Buddies. 

Ms. Malarcher retired from Standard Oil Company after many years of service and then began working with her father at Caddo Business Machines. 

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth M. Givens; brothers, Hart Malarcher, Donald Malarcher, and Falvey Malarcher; and nephews, Bill Givens and Robert Beasley.

Survivors include her brother, Willy (Patricia) Malarcher of Englewood, NJ; nieces and nephews, Nancy (Tony) St. Charles of Signal Mountain, Greg (Diane) Givens of Chattanooga, Steve (LuAnne) Givens of Savannah, TN, Bob (Connie) Givens of Evansville, IN, Lisa Beasley of Murfreesboro, TN, and Vicky Givens of Hixson; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.  

The family would like to offer many thanks to all the staff at Southern Heritage Assisted Living for their loving care. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 11 a.m.–12 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel. 

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick officiating. 

Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 501 South Moore Road, Chattanooga, TN 37412.
