Lee University will welcome Ballet Magnificat! to perform “The Hiding Place” on Thursday, March 2, at 10:40 a.m. for a unique chapel service in the Conn Center.

“The Hiding Place” depicts the true story of Corrie Ten Boom, a Christian Holocaust survivor who was imprisoned for hiding Jews in her home during the Nazi Occupation of Holland. The dramatic performance displays how her faith led her through imprisonment in the Concentration Camp of Ravensbruck.

“Why tell fairy tales when you can bring to the stage such an alluring story of courage and faith that will challenge us to the core,” said Jiri Voborsky, choreographer and artistic director of Ballet Magnificat! Omega Company.

“The Hiding Place” was first performed in 2006, and has since been performed on over five continents, for countless audience members. The ballet has been performed for Holocaust survivors, former Nazis, and relatives of Corrie Ten Boom.

Ballet Magnificat! is America’s longest-running Christian ballet company. The Mississippi-based company was founded in 1986 by Kathy and Keith Thibodeaux. Their desire is to present the Gospel to the world through the arts. The company has toured internationally and performed across the United States.

For more information about Ballet Magnificat!, visit http://www.balletmagnificat.com/. The event is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.

For those not able to attend, the event will be live streamed at https://livestream.com/leeu. For more information about this or other chapel services, visit http://www.leeuniversity.edu/chapel/ or call Campus Ministries at 614-8420.
