Edith Marie Pierce, 77, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lena Lewis; brother-in-law, Gerald Trew; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Ella Pierce; sisters-in-laws, Louise Dempsey and Eula Vineyard; and brothers-in-law, Virgil and Frank Pierce.
Edith was a member of Good Samaritan Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arvil Pierce of the residence; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dot Trew of Athens, TN, Sarah and Harold Sutton of Dalton, Betty and James Brown of Dalton, Carolyn and Ray Ridley of Chatsworth, and Evelyn and Marty Young of Dalton; nieces and nephews, Anita Grant, Denise Ridley, Felicia Cummings, Doyle Ridley, Greg Sutton, Brian Sutton, Eric Young, and Curtis Trew; a very special friend, Joey Wilhelm; sister-in-law, Eloise Pierce; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Pierce.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 24, at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Joe Cochran and Rev. Arthur Corbin officiating.Pallbearers will be Joey Wilhelm, Curtis Trew, Greg Sutton, Doyle Ridley, Eric Young, and Marty Hammontree. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Tunnel Hill.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23, from 5-9 p.m.
