The Calhoun Little Theatre will present a timeless courtroom drama on the Ratner Theater stage – “A Time to Kill”.   Performances will be on March 3, 4 10, and 11, at 7 p.m. and March 5 at 3 p.m.

The cast includes stage veterans Brian Anderson, Calvin Smith, Coleen Brooks, Dale Seger, Evan Brackett, Hartwell Brooks, Jesse Kindred, Jessica Dennis, Jim Curry, Jim Kirk, Kevin Morang, Kevin Morang II, LeAnna Wade, Marie Kindred, Mary Nell Podgorny, Rodney Curtis, Susan Powell, Teresa Morang, and Vic Hixon.

This production is based on the classic John Grisham bestseller and adapted for the stage by Rupert Holmes. The play is directed by Virginia M. McChesney and produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.  Due to the mature subject matter of the play, an over-18 audience is suggested.

Synopsis:

Carl Lee Hailey shot two men in the very courtroom where he now stands trial. But attorney Jake Brigance sees Hailey's act of vengeance against the racist men who attacked his daughter as a desperate bid for justice, and he's willing to risk everything to defend his client's life. As the trial heats up, the community is torn apart in this gripping adaptation of John Grisham's incendiary novel about race, crime, and family in small-town America that asks the question: when is it right to take justice into your own hands?

Tickets are available online or by calling 706-629-2599.
