Carrie Mae Runions Wilson, 76, of Etowah, Tennessee, passed away Saturday morning, February 18, 2017 at her residence.
Born on August 27, 1940 to the late Curtis and Elizabeth Visage Runions, she was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and a member of Cambria Baptist Church. She loved playing the piano and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clayburn Wilson; and brother, Conley Runions.
She is survived by her children, John Wilson and wife Cissy of Etowah, Teresa Wilson and husband Sidney Bedard of Charleston, SC and Jeff Wilson and wife Kristi of Athens; grandchildren, Chris Rogers of Sweetwater, Jessie Rogers of Cleveland, Sara Wilson of Red Bank and Kaylee Wilson of Athens; great-grandchildren, Ruthie Rogers, Addison Hatcher, Cameron Hatcher, Daylen Drawdy, Jackson Drawdy ,and Sophie Rogers; and brothers, Sherman Runions and wife Mary Jo of Sapphire, NC and Marlin Runions and wife Linda of Searcy, AR; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Rowland officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, at the funeral home and proceed to Cambria Baptist Church Cemetery for the 11 a.m. committal service.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
