Covenant men's tennis freshman Logan Hull has been named the USA South Rookie of the Week, for the period ending Feb. 19, announced the conference on Monday afternoon.
This week is the first for USA South tennis awards, so all stats accumulated through the spring were considered for the honor.
The accolade is the first for Hull in his collegiate career.
The freshman from Conyers, Ga., went 2-1 at the No. 3 singles spot. Hull took Covenant's lone point in a loss to Birmingham Southern on Feb. 11 by defeating Anthony Pellegrini in three sets 6-4, 2-6, 10-7. The freshman also helped the Scots to an 8-1 win over Gadsden State last Friday by winning 6-3, 6-2 against Kyle Woodruff. In doubles play, Hull teamed with fellow freshman Micah Fox to record an 8-2 victory over Gadsden State's duo of Woodruff and Alex Sanchez in the Scots' victory on Friday.
On the year, Hull is 3-1 in singles play and 2-2 in doubles.
Covenant (2-2) will play Millsaps on Friday in Jackson, Miss., at 12 p.m. EST.
