  • Friday, February 17, 2017

Senator Lamar Alexander on Friday released the following statement on his vote to confirm Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to serve as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency:

"I look forward to working with Mr. Pruitt to make sure federal policies put nuclear power on a level playing field, especially since nuclear power produces 60 percent of our country’s pollution-free, carbon-free electricity.

I have also talked with him about the importance of clean air to Tennesseans' jobs, health, and tourism – and I look forward to working with him as Tennessee’s metropolitan areas all continue to make significant progress in improving air quality."
