Ray Ortega, Jr., 81, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017

Ray was a member of Abba’s House where he served for many years. He was retired from the United States Air Force and FAA. Ray loved to Square and Round dance and traveled around the world. He taught ESL and was an interpreter on many missions trips.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Marie Ortega.

Ray is survived by his wife, Nancy; three children, Mike (Kathi) and Mark (Cheryl) Ortega and Michelle (Scott) Sherman; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ray will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, at Abba’s House in Hixson, and the family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday at the church.

Interment at Chattanooga National Cemetery will be conducted at later date.
