Floyd White
Dr. Floyd “Pete” White, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017, in a local health care facility.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1927, in Chattanooga to the late Rose & Charles White, Sr.
He graduated from Central High School in 1946. After graduation Dr. White went on to receive his doctorate degree in 1951 from Mercer School of Pharmacy
He was the former owner and operator of B & W Pharmacy. After retirement he also worked for Rite Aid Pharmacy.
He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church of Chattanooga.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, his twin, Lloyd “Cricket” White, Charles White, Jr., Herman White, and Ernest White; his sister, Betty Helen Arendale as well as an infant sister.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Betty Alford White; daughters, Kay (Mark) Whittenburg of Ooltewah, Dr. Darlene White of Ooltewah, and Brenda Davis of Chattanooga; son, Dr. Floyd Michael (Beth) White of Chattanooga; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
