Eloise Knight peacefully died on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at her home after a very long illness.
She was born March 1, 1927, in Chattanooga, to (Reverend) Zackery and Mary Smith. She was the only girl, the third sibling of five, who really loved her brothers (Johnny, Felton, Zackery Jr., and Charles), all of whom preceded her in death.
Eloise accepted Christ at a very early age and was a member of St. Paul AME Church where she served faithfully through the years, until failing health.
She leaves these to cherish her memories her daughter, Phyllis (Cornell) Williams (Houston); sons, Maurice Knight (Memphis) and Eric (Kathy) Knight (Biloxi, Ms.); grandchildren, Delane (Victoria) Knight (Birmingham), Thomas (Tammy) Knight (Memphis), Eric Knight, Jr., Brian Knight, and Chris Knight (all of Memphis); great-grandchildren- Skyla, Jada, Aria (Birmingham), Myles (Memphis); cousin, Ann Lee Sturnes, nephews and nieces, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Dec. 15, at St. Paul AME Church. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
