Bob Pace
Bob Pace

Robert D. “Bob” Pace, Sr., a “servant of God,” entered the glorious estate of heaven on Sunday, December 10, 2017, one month to the day after his precious wife, Clara.

Born on July 28, 1932 in Rome, Ga., his family moved to Atlanta where he grew up. After marrying Clara Braswell, he served in the US Army overseas. Upon returning to the States, his full time employment began as a carpenter, business owner, and vice-president of a national corporation.

In 1983, Bob was called by the Church of God International Headquarters to serve in the Church of God Laity Department. Seeing the great need for Christ-centered benevolence at home and across the world, he transitioned to the Missions Department where he founded Men and Women of Action and later launched People for Care and Learning. As international ministries, they provided disaster relief, construction of hospitals, poverty reduction homes, clean water initiatives, schools, and orphanages on six continents. He built “Common Grounds”, a coffee shop in Siem Reip, Cambodia and donated it to the community, where meals are served, literacy skills are taught, and the Word of God is shared. And always faithfully by his side was his beloved wife of 66 years, Clara.

Bob is survived by their two sons, Robert D.(Chip) Pace and wife, Annette, of Sarasota, FL, and Jeff Pace (wife Sara) of Atlanta, GA. Grandchildren include Ryan and Mackenzie Pace, Kristen and Andrew Bell, Davidson Pace, and Carrie and Cory Sellers of Atlanta and R. J. Adams of Idaho. Great grandchildren are Andie Juliette and Weston Bell, Nathan, Evelyn and Caleb Sellers, and Buddy and Molly Adams. Known as “Daddy Bob” around the globe, he was a role model and surrogate father to hundreds of orphans.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff of Hospice of Chattanooga and the loving caregivers that ministered to Bob in his final days on Earth.

The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Westmore Church of God with Robert D. Pace, Jeff Pace, Dr. Tim Hill, Reverend Wendell Smith and Pastor Kelvin Page officiating.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m.until the service time at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Westmore Church of God. Graveside services and Interment will be conducted on Thursday at 12 p.m. at the North Atlanta Memorial Park, 5097 Glaze Drive, Dunwoody, Georgia.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Bob and Clara Pace Scholarship Fund, in care of Men and Women of Action, 2490 Keith Street, Cleveland, Tn. 37311.

The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements. You may share your condolences and your memories with the Pace family at www.jimrushfuneralhomes.com.
